I visited Afturelding while they played at this temporary mainground. The Mosfellsbær area is growing rapidly and the potential for a good club is getting better and better. this match was “the peoples-match”, with free entrance and free hamburger. Nice atmosphere and high expectations as the club were so close to promotion in 2023. But it turned out to be a difficult match at Varmarvöllur gervigras. Grindavik fought well, and a draw was probably a fair result.

Eventually, the season ended with success. Afturelding secured promotion to the top division, for the first time ever.
