My first ever match in Slovakia. Firstly, this one I had really been looking forward to for some time. The Spartak fans from the town of Trnava has really impressed me with some nice tifos. I really hoped that they had saved something spectacular for the last match of the season also. Secondly, the City Arena Trnava is a very nice stadium in the middle of the town Trnava. In addition Trnava is really a city well worth visiting. It goes under the name “Little Rome” for its many churches. If you have time you should visit the old parts of the city. It’s extraordinary beautiful!
After some glühwein at the christmas market, I walked the ten minutes down to the stadium. The City Arena is certainly a very nice stadium with great view from every seat. The Spartak Ultras really fired on all cylinders and had a great tifo, the visiting fans from Fenerbache made a lot of noise. It was good atmosphere during the whole match. On the pitch the hosts wanted it the most, and consequently ran out deserved winners. To sum up, it was a very nice experience and I can highly recommend a trip to Trnava!
